Ted Bundy - The Evolution of a Serial Killer

Part 1 - The Beginning

Ted Bundy is the most "celebrated" serial killer in the United States. In fact, he may have very well started the term serial killing. Between 1974 and 1977 he murdered at least 30 women.  What made him kill and what can we learn from him and his victims? How did this charismatic, good looking, seemingly normal man devolve into a perfect killing machine?   Part 1 will examine his upbringing and his first two "confirmed" victims - Karen Sparks and Lynda Healy. Sparks survived the assault but did Bundy learn from that and take that lesson with him when he abducted Healy a month later?

Part 2 - Manson and Rancourt

Part 2 will examine the disappearances of Donna Manson and Susan Rancourt. Why did Bundy change his MO from going into houses to abducting women from the street?

Part 3 - Parks, Ball and Hawkins

Part 3 will examine the disappearances of Roberta Parks, Brenda Ball and Georgann Hawkins. Why did Bundy now change his abduction location, yet bring the body back to his original body dump location?

Part 4 - Ott and Naslund

Part 4 will examine the disappearances of Janice Ott and Denise Naslund on July 14, 1974. Bundy now, for the first time, abducts two women on the same day from the same location. Why? He now introduces investigators to a new dump site.

Part 5 - Ted Moves His Hunting Grounds

Part 5 will examine why Bundy moves his hunting ground from Seattle to Utah. In addition, there is now a time gap in his killings. Why? Are there more victims out there that authorities are unaware of? Finally, a living survivor who is able to identify Ted.

Part 6 - The Florida Massacres

Part 6 will examine Bundy's change in how he disposed of bodies, his arrest and his last murders.

Final Chapter - Ann Burr

Ted Bundy is the most "celebrated" serial killer in the United States. In fact, he may have very well started the term serial killing. Between 1974 and 1977 he murdered at least 30 women.  What made him kill and what can we learn from him and his victims? How did this charismatic, good looking, seemingly normal man devolve into a perfect killing machine?   Yet, for all we know about Bundy...there are secrets. Was his first victim an 8 year old girl named Ann Burr? She lived only five blocks from Bundy and he was 14 years old at the time. Could this have been the real start of his murderous ways? There is evidence for and against this theory. Lets see what cold case Detective Ken Mains thinks.
