Biography

Detective Kenneth Mains is recognized as one of the leading cold case investigators in the country, known for solving long standing mysteries by blending forensic science, criminal profiling, victimology, and crime scene analysis. A United States Marine Corps veteran with over 20 combined years in law enforcement, he has served with the Williamsport Bureau of Police, the FBI, and the Lycoming County District Attorney's Office.

He founded and served as President of the American Investigative Society of Cold Cases beginning in February 2013 and held professional memberships in the American Academy of Forensic Science, the Mid Atlantic Cold Case Homicide Investigators Association, and the Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association. In addition to these professional affiliations, he contributed extensive volunteer service as an Advisory Board Member for the Cyril H Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law at Duquesne University, as a case reviewer for the National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children, and as a member of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board at Lock Haven University.

Mains is the author of numerous books including Unsolved No More and the textbook Mastering Cold Case Investigations, each offering insight into his investigative approach. 

Detective Mains has appeared on many television networks to include Investigative Discovery, Oxygen, Discovery Science, Reelz, History Channel, NBC, A&E and Fox News. Mains has also been fortunate to have starred in two television series: Death Row Confidential: Secrets of a Serial Killer, produced by Fireside Pictures and Dick Wolf Entertainment along with the five episode series Hunt For The Zodiac Killer on the History Channel. 

His YouTube show, Unsolved No More, has surpassed 124,000 subscribers, and he now leads the True Crime Division at Fireside Pictures while continuing to work tirelessly to bring closure to families and justice to victims.
